Are you looking for a Portland Insurance Agent?

As an independent Portland insurance agent who has access to top rated regional and national insurance carriers I shop around and find you insurance options that will fit your specific insurance needs and objectives.

I can honestly say risk management and insurance was not in consideration of my top 5 childhood dream jobs. From what I recollect my top 5 were the following:

  1. Airline pilot
  2. Professional drummer
  3. Chef & restaurant owner
  4. Professional athlete
  5. Cartoonist

Even though risk management and insurance is void from that list it’s an opportunity I fell into and I love it. There are many insurance industry terms applied to my job such as “Insurance Agent”, “Insurance Broker” or “Insurance Producer”. I consider those job titles as one dimensional and do not accurately provide insight into how I work with my clients. I prefer to use the term “Insurance Advisor” because I’m more than just a salesperson and product peddler.

I advise, consult, plan and partner with you to offer personalized peace of mind.

I understand pricing is part of the insurance decision process although don’t let pricing cloud your judgement when it comes to protecting your assets. Insurance is complex, providing ‘apples to apples’ coverage comparisons can be short sighted. Coverage limits might be the same but there is nothing standard within the language of an insurance contract. Would it be worth it to jeopardize coverage to save a few dollars?

My guiding rule in putting an insurance program in place are to consider the following:

  1. Don’t risk more than you can afford to lose. This is a measure of severity. If the maximum possible loss could not be paid out of your existing finances without necessitating borrowing or if such a loss might lead to bankruptcy then insurance must be considered.
  2. Consider the odds. What is the probability that a loss will occur?
  3. Don’t risk a lot for a little. After weighing the cost of insurance compared to the potential out-of-pocket expense. Don’t self-insure a loss that could be transferred to the insurance carrier for a known, relatively small amount of premium.

It does not get as clear-cut as that for determining your risk.

Whether you are looking for an insurance agent in Portland, Eugene, Salem, Bend or Medford, I have you covered. I also serve many individuals and business in many of the smaller cities, such as Hood River, Astoria, Seaside and Gresham.

I look forward to helping you.
